I am a preacher from Davao City, Philippines. Aside from holding pastorate I am teaching in a Bible School.

Quality books hone my life and ministry. Can I request your book GIFTS OF AN UNCOMMON LIFE as a compliment? I know that there are generous authors that give books as complimentary copies. I hope that my humble request be granted.

So wonderful to see Peter Singer’s concerns raised up and wrestled with. Wonderful insight -thanks.

    Dear Joni,

I am curious . . . how you know Peter Singer and his work. He really has “gotten to me,” in awys that are unsettling and challenging, but in ways that feel like an invitation to “constructive wrestling.” He seems constantly at my side, influencing my perceptions, altering my way of processing so much — well beyond just financial matters.

Have you spent time with him directly? Read his new book? His essays? If you would, say more.

    Thanks,

    Howard

Just saw you on Password, a rerun on the Gameshow Network on 11/21/2009, filmed ~1963. You played with Hugh O’Brian and won $500 – big bucks for a Princeton seminarian!!! I found your books on Amazon; I’m looking forward to reading them. In searching for you, I learned that your father died earlier this month. I am sorry for your loss and am praying that the peace of Christ surrounds you and your family at this time.

Okay, I am out of guesses. Give me a clue. Thanks, Howard

    Hi Howard,

It is so wonderful to see that you’re still doing the Lord’s work.

You probably don’t remember me. I was that 13 or 14 year old crippled kid that was a member of the youth group you and Mike (forgot his last name) ran in Gladwyne, PA, 40+ years ago (I attended St. Christophers). In retrospect, I must say that you had a profound effect on my life. You changed my view of the church from one of a foreboding, confusing, musty, boring institution frequented primarily by “old” people, to one of an inviting, vibrant, living church celebrating the gifts of Jesus Christ and enticing the youth or our community to become involved.

The exciting, fresh view of the church that you instilled in me has served me well my entire life. I’m currently a member of the vestry of The Episcopal Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Placentia, CA.

Thanks for all you’re doing, and all you’ve done

    Jeff Green
